This week’s favorites are a round up of all things summer. I think it has definitely arrived here in Texas, and it’s one of my favorite times of the year. Every day seems to have somewhat of a Friday feel to it. Even though my mind is ready for summer, but my body isn’t quite there yet (hello, pale legs that look like unpainted drywall). A few more layers of self-tanner and I should be good to go. Do you have a favorite? I’ve been using this self-tanner for a couple seasons now and it does the trick.
I love how the summer season doesn’t just change how we dress, but it filters into our lives through how we eat and drink, how we entertain, and how we choose to relax. The best way I know to relax is to get a completely new change of scenery. Travel does amazing things for the soul. This week’s Friday Favorites photo comes from Italy two summers ago. A pristine blue swimming pool overlooks a valley of vineyards onto the town of San Gimignano in the distance. There was a smell of lemon trees in the air and a warm dry breeze carried bees and butterflies. I could be there right now, couldn’t you?
A new bathing suit is a fun way to kick-off the season. I love this round up of 40+ Stylish Swimsuits for Summer from The EveryGirl. One-piece suits have come a long way and are everywhere this season. The cutouts are my favorite part. This is a great round-up for every body type.
I definitely check all the boxes in this list of 5 Clear Signs You Need a Vacation from Brighton the Day. I know it seems like we are always traveling somewhere fun and in vacay mode, but reality looks a little different. Our Monday through Friday schedule is stressful and exhausting. I could use more time to recharge.
Summer means more ponytails for me. Long hair and hot weather do not mix well. But I’m pretty tired of the same old look. That’s why I’m loving these 7 Scarves to Wear in Your Hair from Gal Meets Glam. Not only are the fabrics really pretty but the way Julia styles them is perfect. She makes it look so easy and effortless, but I usually end up looking like the virgin Mary or one of those train station gypsies. I’d love to try this again this summer, though.
Grilled corn and a strawberry spinach salad are go-tos around here during the summer. This round up of 10 Tasty Summer Recipes from Kristy Wicks will make you hungry!
Eating outside always feels more festive to me. This Simple Summer Outdoor Entertaining from Ella Claire showcases a gorgeous summer tablescape that I’d love to recreate. Fortunately we have some great weather here in San Antonio that makes dining al fresco possible all summer long.
What are some things you love about the summer season?
