Fall Edit: 10 Lust-worthy Essentials

The Edit Series / Thursday, September 14th, 2017

Maybe I say this about every season, but I think Fall might be my favorite. There is nothing like that first chilly morning, and lately we’ve had some very comfortable temperatures in central Texas. With the actual First Day of Autumn right around the corner, I wanted to share 10 fall essentials that I think work with just about any wardrobe.

1 – Theory Crepe Slip Dress

Not every 90’s trend should be brought back, but I was always a fan of the slip dress. It’s an easy day-to-night look and looks great with just about any shoe from flats to heels. I love wearing dresses when I travel and this one would be perfect. So easy to pack, too.

2 – BP. Plaid Scarf

Can you ever have too many scarves? To my husband who may be reading this – don’t answer that! But seriously, a scarf is one of the easiest ways to dress up a look and keep the chill at bay. I prefer warmer tones and this one has a beautiful mix of blues with neutrals and just a pop of merlot. Perfect for jeans, running errands, or gameday.

3 – Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Gloss

Lately I’ve been wearing more glosses than lipsticks, especially during the day. I feel like lipstick is too heavy for when I’m at work, but a gloss adds just enough color. I love the Pure Color Envy series from Estée Lauder. My mother and grandmother are Estée fans and I guess it rubbed off on me. This color is called Reckless Bloom, but another shade I’m loving right now is Intense Spice. It goes with everything.

4 – Tom’s Majorca Bootie

It took me a while to warm up to the bootie trend, but once I finally tried on a pair I was sold. I love that this silhouette has a peep toe, making it a perfect transition piece from summer to fall. A neutral boot goes with just about anything. I love the perforated detail and the stacked heel of this style.

5 – J. Crew Parke Blazer

Blazers and denim are a match made in style heaven. A neutral blazer paired with dark wash jeans takes your look straight to the boardroom. It’s a favorite of mine for work (that is if your office allows denim). Another option is to pair a tailored blazer with distressed jeans. The dichotomy of the two styles really works. I love this J. Crew blazer but if you’re looking for a stylish blazer without breaking the bank, H&M has a great selection for under $50, like the one I’m wearing below.

Blazer, jeans, wedges, skinny jeans, tory burch, kate spade, H&M, banana republic, old navy

6 – Madewell Kent Cardigan

Might as well say the same thing about cardigans as I do scarves. But, if you can’t splurge on more than one go for a neutral. I love the oversized cardigan trend right now, especially paired over a cami and jeans or even a slip dress.

7 – Kendra Scott Blossom Earrings

Statement earrings aren’t going away any time soon. After seeing the new Kendra Scott Fall Collection, I fell in love with the Italian-inspired pieces. This pair in Bordeaux Tiger’s Eye are perfect. Maybe it’s because they are the exact color of a gorgeous red wine? Hmmm…

8 – Sole Society Piri Cross-body Bag

I love cross-body bags because they allow me to be hands-free. This saddlebag style will transition easily from fall to winter. It’s vegan leather and has great stitching details. I also think the interior is roomy enough to stow my camera and other essentials.

9 – Ray-Ban Clubmaster Mirrored Sunglasses

I’ve been a fan of Ray-Ban glasses for years. I have a pair of cockpits and wayfarers. They really know how to nail a classic, yet remain so current with trends. The quality is high and they are durable. I have sunglasses from other brands too, but I keep coming back to Ray-Ban. Fall means football season so you’ll need a great pair of glasses for all those games!

10 – Levi’s 501 Floral Embroidered Crop Taper Jeans

Crop jeans are everywhere this fall as is embroidery. It’s like the fashion gods said, “Embroider all the things!” this year. If you’re not too keen on going all out with an embroidered jacket, shoes, or bag, try a pair of embroidered denim. It’s a little bit boho and can be a slightly subtle way to inject some color and texture into your outfit.
