Holiday parties. Love them or hate them, they are prolific this time of year. From office to cocktail to dinner party, you can succumb to the stress of not knowing what to bring or wear. But fear not, dear friends, there are easy ways to give your wardrobe a little jingle all the way without asking Santa Baby for the deed to a platinum mine. I put together 3 easy holiday party looks you can pull from your own wardrobe without breaking the bank.
Most of these items are probably hanging in your closet but you might not think to combine them. I always like to experiment with my look during the holidays. I don’t usually wear stilettos and bright red lipstick (maybe I should?) but a holiday party is a welcome arena for that. So go with glitter, go for gold, or go colorful! Don’t be afraid to make a bold choice and mix it up.

White Collared Shirt + Jeans + Heels
There may not be anything more versatile than a white collared shirt. It swings so easily between casual and dressy, even formal, and is a closet staple. You can always grab one of your husband’s shirts if you don’t have one yourself. Just tuck it in or tie it up. I paired mine with a pair of boyfriend jeans because I wanted an easy going feel to this outfit. I really like the raw edges around the pockets and hem of these jeans. Black skinnies would be great but I wanted a more relaxed vibe. Denim is immediately dressed up with heels and this brocade pair has just enough shimmer. Keep the jewelry simple and add a bold lip. This would be perfect for a casual office party or dinner with friends.

Tee + Black Pants + Blazer
Another basic that goes from casual to cocktail is the plain tee. A simple, form-fitting silhouette looks super chic under a structured blazer. Velvet blazers have all the holiday feels and they bring the warmth. I think the blazer is the star here, so a simple heel and sparkly earrings complete the look. It’s professional, polished, and perfect for a more formal office gathering or cocktail party.

Slouchy sweater + Skirt + Boots
A cozy slouchy sweater not only works with jeans or leggings, but looks great with a skirt. Just do a simple front tuck to give yourself some shape. Because the sweater is loose-fitting, I would choose a more structured skirt. Pair it with a mini shoulder bag and booties or over-the-knee boots to complete the look. I love the shape of this velvet crossbody bag. Also, you can play up the look with a mix of textures like leather, velvet, and suede. This is a perfect look for a night on the town.

Have you ever just “played” in your closet to create different looks? I hope these give you some ideas as to what can come together for an easy holiday party look without having to go shopping. I love dressing up for parties and I hope this helps you to find the fun in it, too!
