We just returned from a fabulous four days in Vail. If you followed along on Instagram you saw a little behind-the-scenes of everything we did, including our stay at the beautiful Hotel Talisa. I’ll be providing an extended blog post later this week recapping our entire adventure, but I wanted to write about Hotel Talisa because it truly stands on its own when it comes to luxury resort hotels. We had an amazing time! If you’re looking to book your next ski trip, look no further than Hotel Talisa in Vail, CO.
Cocktails at Check-in
Everything about this hotel speaks luxurious grandeur yet it maintains that cozy upscale lodge feel. It is part of the Luxury Collection of Starwood Hotels and our check-in experience was friendly, quick and easy. As SPG Gold members (Starwood Preferred Guests) we were each offered a welcome cocktail (who doesn’t love that?).
Room With a View
The rooms at Hotel Talisa leave nothing to be desired – the ultimate in sophisticated alpine style. Our stay in a mountain view suite made mornings and evenings as relaxed as if we were at home. Just beyond a set of double doors was a pristine view of the snow-covered mountain, at the base of which was a flowing creek. To say it looked like a Christmas card would be an understatement. I enjoyed having my coffee here and had we stayed just one extra day, we could have squeezed in a bottle of wine on our private terrace.
Après Every Day
As a girl from Texas, I was a little new to this whole après ski thing, but I quickly got used to it. Après life is quite possibly the best life. Hotel Talisa has nightly sabering of champagne in the fireside lounge. Yes, you read that correctly. At bottle of champagne is sabered with a silver sword and then glasses of Moët & Chandon are passed all around. Every evening feels like you’re celebrating something with all the flair of an army returned from battle. Cheers all around! Other delights include passed cake pops in flavors like velvety chocolate or strawberry as well as passed cookies. I was ready to move in, obviously. For the kiddos and kid-at-heart there’s a gourmet hot chocolate station as well as s’mores around the fire pit with a dedicated s’mores butler ensuring the perfectly roasted marshmallow.
There’s live music nightly as well as something that came to be a favorite of mine – “Flutes and Frites.” Delicious house-made pommes frites are piled high and served with a delicate glass of Moët & Chandon. Is there a better match made in heaven than French fries and champagne?
Ski Concierge
We spent one day on the slopes with the aide of Hotel Talisa’s onsite ski concierge. As a ski-in/ski-out resort, there’s quick and easy access to Vail Mountain. They’ll even warm your boots and carry your skis to and from the chair lift. Rental equipment is also brand new.
In-Room Amenities
I can’t not mention the in-room amenities you’ll experience. Towels, linens, robes, and slippers are all from the aforementioned Luxury Collection. There’s nothing better than being wrapped up in a cozy plush robe, sipping your coffee, and watching the snowflakes gently fall. Combine that with the provided Elemis collection of skin and haircare products, and you’ve got your own spa-like ambience. Speaking of, the hotel does have a spa but our schedule didn’t allow us the time to utilize it. A return trip is a must for this! Your mini bar is more like a maxi bar stocked full of beverages and gourmet snacks. There’s even an oxygen canister should the altitude affect you and a teddy bear available for purchase. Too cute.
This was not a sponsored post in any way. I just cannot say enough pleasant things about our stay at Hotel Talisa. It is truly setting the standard for luxury ski resorts and I can’t wait to visit again.
