The April Edit: Garden Party

Fashion, The Edit Series / Thursday, April 26th, 2018

If April showers bring May flowers then I’m certainly ready for next month with this garden party edit. Unfortunately, I do not have a green thumb and have killed my fair share of plants. But one thing I have no trouble with for some unexplained reason are roses, and right now they are putting out so many blooms that I find myself just wanting to be out there with them all the time.

Even though I’m no Martha Stewart, I do appreciate the lush feel of a well-kept yard. I love the idea of lounging under the trees while sipping something festive, enjoying a few small bites, and catching up over the sounds of a laid back playlist. I picture something out of the pages of Southern Living set to the sounds of Yacht Rock. Interesting combo? Sure! But who said all garden parties had to be the same?

Speaking of southern tradition, I’m getting really excited for the Kentucky Derby! Our weekend itinerary is shaping up to include country club brunches, bottles and bottles of bubbly, and of course there’s the fashion. I’ll have a blog post coming with more on that, so stay tuned!

Now, let’s get back to this edit, shall we?

Shop the Edit:

1 – This Tory Burch crossbody bag has my name on it. I love the delicate shade of pink and the crossbody style means hands-free access to your rosé.

2 – Sunglasses are essential for outdoor parties and these Elizabeth and James oval sunglasses are the epitome of understated chic.

3 – I love the one-shoulder trend and white is so clean and fresh. I love how the ruffled skirt is mirrored on the sleeve in this J. Crew one-shoulder ruffle dress. And an all white dress means you can experiment with the colors of your accessories.

4 – You know I couldn’t resist adding another bag to this edit. Straw bags are big right now and I love the circular handle plus addition of the shoulder strap. This straw bucket bag is on my wishlist this spring.

5 – If I could, I would grow gardenias for their incredible scent. I love it as a perfume and as a candle. This Diptyque scented candle would make a great hostess gift, too.

6 – Have you tried a neckerchief this season yet? This Henri Bendel mini scarf is just too adorable. I love the monogram “HB” on the tails.

7 and 8 – Sometimes I like my studs and other times I want to be bolder with earrings that dangle. I have long hair so a lot of it depends on how I’m styling it. You can’t go wrong with these flower stud earrings or these beaded tassel earrings.

9 – Finish your outfit with a light spray of Flowerbomb Eau de Parfum. I also love the bottle design.

10 – No garden party is complete without great wine. Keep your whites, rosés, and lighter reds chilled perfectly in this pewter wine cooler.

11 – I love the delicate ruffle detail of these blush Kate Spade sandals. The block heel works best for outdoor venues. No one likes to sink into the grass.

12 – Garden parties are all about comfortable but sophisticated lounging. I love the natural design elements of this bamboo chair.

How are you enjoying the outdoors this month?
