Not that you can’t celebrate love throughout the year, but I enjoy spoiling our girls a little extra, grabbing a coffee with a good friend, and having a special night out with my husband.

Valentine’s Day is a time to celebrate the love you share – from Galentines, to a significant other, and even your fur babies! I truly believe that love comes in all shapes and sizes, so why not devote a whole day to it? The world is not always a comfortable place, and the older I get the more I realize that I want to say I love you as much as possible. And everyday I can be reminded of those I love with a perfect jewelry design that represents that love. 

When I started looking at some fun Valentine’s Day jewelry pieces to add to my collection, I was overwhelmed with the selection from James Avery. There are so many unique designs, and many of them are perfectly layerable so you can combine a few pieces into a look that is all you. If you have a person on your gift list that loves to express themself, you can find a special piece that helps them tell their story. 

These sterling silver Rose Ear Posts were perfect. I was looking for an everyday earring for my second piercing. For Christmas, Paul gave me a new pair of diamond studs as I lost one of my originals when Lola was a puppy. I love them so much, and the Rose Ear Posts from James Avery are a perfect compliment. Paul is always giving me roses, so they remind me of him. In fact, I still have the first roses he ever gave me when we first started dating a billion years ago. They were yellow and I loved that he thought outside the box and deviated from a typical red rose. I dried them and had them saved in a keepsake box. Roses will always remind me of the love he has for me.

It wouldn’t be Valentine’s Day without hearts, would it? Heart shapes can look a little too girl-ish for me, but I still love them. So I was happy to see some dainty heart pieces in James Avery’s new collection.

The Hearts Drop Necklace in sterling silver is pretty by itself, but you could also layer it with a longer chain and pendant. I tried it but my two other James Avery chains just aren’t quite long enough. I’ll be stopping by my local James Avery Discover Store to try on some new chains soon. There are five tiny heart charms along a beaded chain, which remind me of some of my favorites – my husband Paul, our dogs Bella and Lola, my mom, and my grandmother. Every time I reach up and touch one of those little hearts I think of them. 

The Keepsake Heart Charm is such a versatile piece, which is one of the big reasons why I love it. I clipped it to my James Avery Hammered Hook-On Bracelet to wear as a charm on my wrist. But it also looks really cute as a necklace pendant and could even be added as a bag charm to my Avery Tote. The other reason I love it is for the lab-created white sapphire in the center. It gives it a little sparkle. This would be a great piece to give for a birthday, too, as white sapphire is the Avery birthstone for the month of April.

All three of these pieces also come in 14k gold, as do many of James Avery’s jewelry designs. I am wearing them in genuine sterling silver.
