Cocktail Recipe: Almond Joy Espresso Martini

Happy Hour / Friday, October 6th, 2017

“Trick or treat..smell my fe…” Just kidding! It’s way more appealing as an adult to say, “Trick or treat…drink this drink!” Which you will, trust me! As I’ve mentioned in my other cocktail posts, I’m a big fan of low effort high impact cocktails, especially when entertaining. When you host a gathering you also want to enjoy yourself. This Almond Joy Espresso Martini will impress guests and still allow you to let your ghoulish side out. It ain’t your mummy’s martini, that’s for sure (see what I did there?)… 😉

What you’ll need:

1.75 ounces Vodka (we like Tito’s around here)

1.5 ounces coffee liqueur (we prefer Kahlúa)

1 shot espresso (we prefer Nespresso)

Ice

1 Almond Joy candy bar (fun size will do)

Prep:

Place a few ice cubes into your martini glass to chill it down. Or for extra chills, place into your freezer while you mix the drink.

In a cocktail shaker, combine vodka, coffee liqueur, and espresso. Add ice to your shaker, cover tightly, and shake the devil out of it. Give it your best Thriller moves! You want the ice to break up and start to create that creamy foam that you’ll see on top of the martini.

Remove ice from martini glass or remove from freezer. Strain the cocktail into your chilled glass.

Grate the Almond Joy candy bar over the top and serve.

Note: You could add some coconut liqueur but I personally find it to be a little syrupy. The candy bar shavings provide me with just enough of that coconut and chocolate flavor. Feel free to shave the entire thing.

Mix these up for your next Halloween party or just have at home before the little goblins start ringing your doorbell. Drink up, witches!
