Ok, so technically, my band tee isn’t vintage. It’s new. But the band, Queen, is definitely a classic. Lately I’ve been really reaching back to my classic rock roots (I was fortunate enough to have parents with excellent taste in music), and I’ve been going for band tees in my casual daily wardrobe. 

At various points in my life, I’ve had t-shirts with all kinds of bands on them. The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, and even Sublime in the 90’s. Quick confession – my very first band tee was a New Kids on the Block shirt. Oh come on, you know you had one too! 

So, when I spotted this Queen t-shirt I knew I had to have it. I was only going to exchange this denim jacket for a different size when I spotted it. It was sitting amongst a whole display of band tees (so I might need to go back – oh darn).

Ever since, I’ve been crawling the interwebs looking for more vintage band tees. That and going to see Def Leppard in Vegas didn’t help my obsession. Did you see my Instagram stories? Those guys still have it! One of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. 

Outfit Details:

Since I’m basically a jeans and t-shirt girl at heart, I threw on some ripped up jeans and a distressed denim jacket. If you’re braving the Texas tuxedo, just make sure the washes aren’t the same (check out my early blog post on how to wear denim on denim without looking crazy). It was the perfect look for a coffee date with my friend Trish of Late By Lattes. We checked out the new location for Poetic Republic Coffee Co. It’s a great spot for an intimate coffee experience. I love the emphasis on literature and all the books available, plus there’s a turntable just waiting to be played. The coffee is also really good, not bitter at all. And I tried a vegan donut for the first time, which was delightful.
