I’m always looking for ways to enjoy a little Europe at home. And I want my guests to feel the same nostalgia for that European cafe lifestyle that I feel. So, I built a little guest room coffee station so that our friends and family never have to stray too far for that extra bit of comfort.
In addition to the fun factor, I really wanted to create a guest room coffee station for a few practical reasons. Our kitchen is located closer to our master bedroom on the other side of the house from our guest rooms. Our guests have often said how they didn’t want to disturb us by making coffee in the event they wake up before we do.
Another reason for creating a guest room coffee station is that I wanted to provide snacks and water in the event a guest needs to take medications, wakes up thirsty or hungry in the middle of the night, or perhaps overindulged in the wine that evening.
I also included some makeup washcloths so that my female guests can wash their face without fear of ruining my towels. Not that I ever really worry about that, but my friends and family did. My sister-in-law gifted me with makeup towels last year and I’ve expanded them to all our bathrooms.
Finally, the best part of any guest room coffee station (aside from having coffee in bed with this little cutie) – the COFFEE!
I wanted an easy and inexpensive way to give my guests a Europe coffee experience at home. When I saw that the Keurig Mini came in turquoise (or oasis as they call it), I knew it was perfect! We have some other light blue accents in our guest suite that it complimented perfectly. It’s also easy to operate and single-serve, so no coffee is wasted. Imagine…wasted coffee…what a tragedy!
A coffee station needs coffee mugs to be complete. These tiled monogram mugs were screaming, “take me home!” I adore the bistro style of these. The tiled design reminds me of the tilework I’ve seen in a few tapas bars in Spain. They’re also a great price.
I placed everything into a metal wire basket similar to this one to keep it organized. I just love how it turned out. Now, who wants to come have coffee with us?
