A couple weeks ago, I had one of the biggest honors in my blogging life. Even though I’ve built a modest and growing following here on the blog and through social media, I still sometimes wonder who is reading and if you all enjoy the content I’m creating for you. It’s a big responsibility to ensure I’m providing content that you can trust and feel inspired by.

So, when my friend Rose of LIZO.STYLE and Cafe Con Ellas invited me to speak as part of a blogger panel for the launch of the new Kendra Scott Summer ‘19 collection, I was thrilled!

Little ol’ me? Are you sure?

I was honored to be considered a valuable voice in a blogging world that can seem a bit saturated. I sat alongside Kim from @frickspicks (visit her blog, The Real Golden Girl) and Onyi from @Sincerelyonyi (visit her blog, Sincerely Onyi).

I felt like I had graduated from the kids’ table to a seat with the adults – the “big” bloggers who have influenced and inspired me so much.

We shared how we started our blogging journeys, what we find important when it comes to connecting with our audience, and how our style has evolved. The biggest takeaway for me was seeing just how different our stories are, yet how successful we continue to be. It was a great reminder that it’s not a one-size-fits-all kind of world. What works for one blogger may not work for the next because our readers are unique and different, just like us.

Speaking of not being one-size-fits-all, what I love about Kendra Scott is how she continues to provide pieces for everyone. Her collections span a range of styles from the most minimalistic to the girl who really likes to make a statement. The Summer ‘19 collection is no exception to this. I went home with the Malika Gold Statement Earrings and the Mari Gold Long Pendant Necklace. I’m not usually a jewelry set kind of person, and will likely wear these separately, but I really loved the geometrical shape of the ivory mother-of-pearl. Plus ivory will go with just about anything. I get so many compliments on these earrings and everyone wants to know how heavy they are. Guess what? They weigh basically nothing and are some of the lightest earrings I own. I wore them all day in complete comfort.

We also had the opportunity to play dress up with the rest of the collection. I felt like a little girl playing in her mother’s jewelry box. It was really fun!
