I’m not one to go overboard on the seasonal decor. Well, except maybe for Christmas, but even that has been simplified over the years. I think it’s because the older I get the less clutter I want in my home. I prefer a much easier approach to decorating, and when I came across all the Easter cuteness at Pier 1 recently, I had to have a few things. Right now is a good time to freshen up our interiors, don’t you think? If we’re going to be homebound for the foreseeable future, I at least want some cheerful things to surround myself with.
My approach to fresh and easy easter decor is with a major focus on simple. I only picked up a few key pieces to place around our kitchen and casual dining space, since that’s the area we spend so much time in. When I found these bunny plates, I knew I wanted the rest of the decor to be inspired by it. I love the muted colors and watercolor feel of the artwork. Plus the bunnies are really cute.
Pier 1 has an entire set of these plates, along with matching bowls and even wine glasses. If we hosted an Easter dinner here, then I would be tempted to purchase the whole set. But since we don’t, I only bought a couple of pieces and I think they look great on their own. For the bowl and plate, I added fresh lemons and candles. In the centerpiece of our kitchen table, I filled a wooden serving tray with some speckled eggs and raffia. In about 5 minutes I was done and the entire feel of our kitchen was uplifted. I know Easter is still a few weeks away, but I didn’t want to wait (plus everything is on sale now, too!). Everything in the post is linked below, plus I added a few more things I wish I had purchased.
