Another Friday is upon us and it’s a special one! I love Memorial Day weekend. I love putting American flags around the front of our home and honoring those who gave their life so that we may enjoy the freedoms we have. I love that we get one extra day of rest this weekend to spend with those we love most, too.
I also love that Memorial Day weekend kicks off the start of summer, or at least it always seems to feel that way. Summer usually brings with it a slightly slower pace. We spend more time outside, there’s always rosé on ice, and we let ourselves sink in to each moment. There’s usually more leisure time on our hands to enjoy things that don’t revolve around the 9-to-5.
This week’s photo is from our trip to Nice, where we indulged in bottle after bottle of crisp French rosé alongside baskets of potato chips. If you’ve never had wine and chips, you’re missing out on one of life’s greatest pleasures. We spent each evening at Blue Beach, a casual beach club spot for wine and a view, and watched the sun go down over a sea of blue and white umbrellas. Every time I look at this photo I can feel and see and hear everything in it. And I want to be back in that moment as soon as I can get myself on a plane.
So until I can fully enjoy some relaxation this weekend, here are my Friday Favorites all about things and activities that are truly leisurely in nature. Have a wonderful and safe Memorial Day weekend, everyone!
Entertain

With more time to read on my hands, I’m always looking for a great reading list. I usually dedicate myself to at least one classic novel over the summer, but I leave plenty of room for those “trashy” poolside books (you know the ones).
