Happy FriYAY, everyone! This week’s favorites are all about easy living. The simple pleasures in life that I feel like I can truly enjoy during the summer months. The rest of the year is just plain crazy!

Now that I’m back from Santa Fe, I am in full Europe trip planning mode. Our lodging and restaurant reservations are all squared away (I can’t wait to share our apartments with you all). Now I’m trying to wrap my head around what to pack. The weather in Scandinavia is going to be a little tricky. Highs are in the 80’s and lows in the 50s. Layers will be key, but I always try to pack as light as possible. I really need to pair down my wardrobe into reusable pieces that go from day to night.

It’s been really hot here lately. I’ve lived in Texas my whole life so you would think I’d be used to the heat by now. At least all the sunshine is good for pool days. We’ve enjoyed some staycation time at La Cantera Resort & Spa, my favorite resort hotel in San Antonio. I could definitely go for a frigid dip in the mediterranean, though! This week’s photo is from Plaka Beach in Naxos, Greece. I never get tired of looking at all that blue and daydreaming of those loungers again. Whoever came up with the idea of lounge beds instead of lounge chairs is a genius.

For someone who doesn’t actually have a pool, I have somewhat of an obsession with oversized pool floats. They just make me so happy! I feel like a kid again when I see a giant unicorn float, and I swear they taunt you until you get on them. This round up of fun and funny pool floats from Centsational Style is just fueling my addiction. I think I need that rosé bottle pool float in my life, stat!

TRAVEL

Since it’s summer, I know many of you are planning little (or big) trips. From weekend getaways to two-week treks to staycations, traveling is my favorite part of summer. But packing is always the death of me. I’ve learned some tricks of the trade over the years, though, and shared them all on the blog. EAT

Would you prefer a warm and sweet cake donut or a glass of crisp rosé? Well, now you don’t have to choose. You can literally have your cake and eat it, too. This recipe for rosé cake donuts from Sivan Ayla is double drool-worthy. If I had a donut pan I would be in serious trouble.

DESIGN

I don’t know about you guys, but my college dorm was never THIS COOL! I have been browsing this gallery of tiny house-inspired dorms with my chin on the floor. It’s so beautiful and so efficiently designed for study, rest, and recreation. And it’s only 200 square feet! Even the shared amenities are amazing – hello rooftop terrace! Sigh…kids these days. 😉
