Instagram Roundup | January & February

Fashion, Lifestyle / Friday, February 14th, 2020

A lot happens here on Cathedrals & Cafes, but in between all these moments is everything I’m posting over on Instagram, and I don’t want you to miss a thing! Hence the Instagram Roundup! This post features some of my favorite grams from January and February, and it allows me to share even more about these fun photos and link as much as I can for you (in case you see something you like).

Please note that if an item is no longer available, I always try to link a very similar option from brands I know and trust. So you can recreate anything you see.

The roundup features my favorites or most popular grams. If you want to see even more, let’s be friends! You can follow me @CathedralsandCafes here.

These genuine shearling lace-up boots are coming with me to Colorado next week! I love this style so much and can’t wait to wear them with all my sweaters. I did a full winter boot roundup on the blog for this shot, too. This was taken using my self-timer on our patio. Not bad if I do say so myself.

Another self-timed photo! This dress was a “must buy” from a huge after Christmas sale at Lucky. I paired it with a double buckle leather belt I’ve had for years. Back then, it was a pricey purchase at $100, and Paul and I still joke about it. Although, I still think that’s a lot for a belt. I don’t really wear belts that often, but I’m glad I kept this one. It’s perfect for dresses like this.

Winter Travel Outfit with Yellow Box Shoes | Cathedrals & Cafes Blog

This was a really fun collaboration with Yellow Box. I was in the market for a new travel shoe so when they reached out about these sneakers, I accepted. I have actually worn these a lot, even though I wanted to save them for the next time I’m in an airport. But the excellent news is that they’re on sale right now, making them under $60. They are absolutely the most comfortable slip-on sneakers and they look good with anything. You can read the blog post about them here.

I love going out for lunch dates with Paul on Saturdays. We have been in the habit of this more recently and now I’m convinced that I prefer a long lunch to a having a dinner reservation. What do you guys think? We had lunch at a local favorite, Peggy’s, then stopped by one of my favorite coffee shops for a coffee and cookie. They have the best iced oatmeal cookies at The Dienger in Boerne, TX! These snakeskin ankle boots continue to be a wardrobe staple and right now they’re 60% off!

Sometimes it’s the most unplanned photos that get the best reactions. This photo garnered a ton of likes, so maybe it’s the rope? LOL Paul and I had an impromptu mid-week dinner date and this is what I wore. I was meeting him there and he would be in his office attire so I felt like I should also look the part. Everything I’m wearing is old, but I enjoy shopping my closet.

Creating Valentine’s content has been so much fun. I think I might enjoy it more than the holidays. This photo was another self-timed shot and not as easy as you might think. Try setting up wine bottles while your labrador retrievers investigate your every move. I could just see bottles tipping over and wine going all over the place. Luckily that didn’t happen and I was able to get a pretty fun photo. Plus you get to drink the props so it’s a win-win!

Galentine's Day Brunch with Whataburger | Cathedrals & Cafes Blog

A friend of mine took this fun photo at a Galentine’s Brunch with Whataburger. I don’t know what possessed me to grab the balloons and do this, but it was probably the spirit of the day – just be yourself! This pair of snakeskin boots has also been a fan favorite this season. I scored them in a Black Friday sale, but there are still a few sizes available and they’re under $50, so I would jump on them if you can.

I can’t believe that today is Valentine’s Day already. Doesn’t it feel like Christmas was yesterday? I mean, January always feels like the longest month, but it’s hard to believe we are essentially halfway done with February. Are you doing anything tonight to celebrate? We are staying in and Paul is making another fabulous dinner. We have some bubbles and just plan on being at home. We never go out on the actual day to avoid crowds and less than great restaurant experiences. But tomorrow night we have dinner plans at my favorite restaurant in all of San Antonio, and I can’t wait to share my outfit with you! Stay tuned to Instagram for more!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
