If I could wear boots all year, I would. I love them. It’s almost an unsaid rule that when the temperature drops below 70, it’s boot weather in Texas. I’m only slightly joking. When you don’t get a whole lot of cold days, you’ll take advantage when you can. Today’s post is all about those must have winter boots that are anything but boring. Trudging through winter doesn’t mean your footwear has to suffer, too.
When we built our house a few years ago, I had special taller and wider boot shelves installed in my closet. That’s how much I love a great pair of boots. Plus, that was just smart storage sense, right? Boots are an investment in my wardrobe, and when they’re made from quality materials they can last a lifetime. The classic riding boot has never gone out of style (and hopefully that continues as I have a rather obsessive amount of this style).
A couple of years ago I invested in a great pair of water-proof winter boots (they’re back this year and currently on sale for under $60 – woa!). They’re fur-lined and quilted so they look great, but they’re also really functional. I bought them as a more durable and waterproof version of my favorite Ugg boots.
This year I added this pair of winter boots to my collection in the form of a combat/hiking boot style. I love the look of these boots with the contrast laces and lug sole. They also have genuine shearling for added warmth. When I was shopping for these on Nordstrom’s website there were literally thousands of people viewing them at the same time. I’m not sure I’ve ever added something to my cart so quickly. They fit true to size, but I wouldn’t wear a very bulky sock.
I’m looking forward to getting a lot of wear out of these in Colorado next month. To me, these boots feel more stylish than your standard clunky winter boot. What do you think?
