I began this year with a goal of designing my own crochet pieces and today I’m thrilled to unveil my first crochet design, the Tote d’Azur! This is the first crochet design in my Riviera Collection, launching May 2023. It will comprise 6 crochet pieces named after and inspired by the Côte d’Azur! The full pattern collection will launch in May 2023, but I couldn’t resist putting this first design out into the world!
My Riviera Collection will consist of easy to intermediate level crochet patterns to wear, accessorize, and entertain with. The crochet patterns will be available here on my blog for free! You’ll be able to experience the joie de vivre the French Riviera brings with each piece! The Tote d’Azur uses a combination of double crochet and Jacob’s Ladder stitches to give it a beautiful texture. I love the yarn I used but you can use any bulky weight 5 yarn you’d like.

I love traveling in the south of France and am always inspired by the pastel whitewashed buildings, clear blue sea, and the woven tote bags carried by chic visitors and locals alike. This tote is perfect for perusing the farmers’ market or taking to the beach. It fits a bottle of rosé and other picnic essentials but can easily be the perfect accessory for a stylish seaside apéritif. I like to wear it with my favorite sundress and espadrilles. I hope you love it as much as I do!
