What I’m Packing for a Fall Trip to Napa Valley

Fashion, Travel, Wine / Tuesday, November 19th, 2019

Admittedly, this is my first trip to Napa Valley so what I’m packing might have to be seriously edited at some point. For some of the other major wine regions of the world I’ve been to (France, Italy, Spain, Chile) I’ve only ever visited during the summer months. A Fall trip to wine country certainly has different requirements than other times of the year, and I want to feel confident and styled while enjoying everything Napa Valley has to offer.

Our Napa trip is 5 days but we really only have 3 full days to drink as much wine as we can. Ok, not really. We are responsible adults. But we have a pretty well scheduled itinerary. In addition to regular winery visits and wine tastings, we are also riding horses and have several nice dinners planned. I honestly can’t wait! I’m sure I’ll document much of our experience on Instagram stories, so follow me there and you won’t miss a minute.

I’ve broken down what I’m packing into categories and even included other favorites that would be perfect vineyard attire. We do have a wine region here in Texas so I’m not totally missing the vineyard vibe.

Sweaters

It’s going to be chilly during the day and pretty cold at night. Cozy sweaters that can be paired with dark denim and boots are my go to. I’m sticking with fall jewel tones like merlot, hunter green, and golden yellow.

Sweater Dresses

For dinners, I always like the ease of wearing a dress. Since it’s going to be cold at night, I’m opting for sweater dresses, like this majorly affordable one from this post.

Boots and Booties

Knee high riding boots are pretty much the perfect day boot, and necessary for the horseback riding we will be doing. I’m going with this slouchy heeled pair at night, and probably a low bootie to mix up my day wear.

Outerwear

A fall trip to Napa is the perfect time to break out the camel coat! I’m also bringing this cream plaid poncho to layer over long sleeve tees.

Accessories

A pashmina that doubles as a scarf is always on my packing list. I’m also bringing this floppy wool hat in a gorgeous oxblood color. As for a travel tote, I’m excited to bring my leather Avery Tote that I featured in this post!
