Well, how are you? Is 2022 treating you well so far? I’ve been keeping busy with new crochet projects and doing some massive cleaning and organizing. If you’re not following me on Instagram then you’re missing out on some truly awesome 80s and 90s nostalgia that I’ve unearthed from our closets. I’ll share more about that in another post. I also have a “happy new year” type post coming that has all the details about how we spent our Christmas holiday and things I’m looking forward to this year. But for now, I couldn’t wait to share a quick post about this new crochet project with you – the pochette!
What is a pochette? The French word translates to envelope or pouch. This little handbag was kind of all the rage in the late 90s to early 2000s and it’s making a comeback.
My version does not have a handle and is a little more clutch-like, but the pattern designer, Tatiana @iswoolish, named it the “Brea Pochette” and I’m going with it. I purchased the pattern from LoveCrafts here. It uses the same recyclable t-shirt yarn I used to make this chic crochet satchel, and I think it turned out pretty cute! It actually looks eerily similar to this one from Bottega Veneta (only without the $4,500 price tag). I made this bag in a single afternoon, too, which made it a really fun and fast project.
This is the third crochet bag I’ve made so far. Check out my crochet market tote and satchel!
And you may have noticed that my Valentine’s Day wreaths are up! I have some fun V-day things coming soon, too!
What do you think? Will the pochette make its way back into your own closet?
