Say hello to my latest project – this big bobble crochet hobo bag! It’s big, it’s covered in bobble stitches, and I am loving it! Let’s chat about it… (and some other things).
For a video of my bag, watch my Reel!
I knew that I wanted to make a big spring bag as my next project. This is the time of year where I’d rather be anywhere than indoors and I need a “throw and go” bag for all my stuff. When I’m in Europe I’ll be filling this bag with wine and park snacks. 😉 And with all the house prep going on, it was nice to have a relaxing evening project.
As usual, when looking for fun and easy bag patterns, I look to Tatiana of isWoolish. She designed this and a myriad of other bobble stitch crochet bags that are just really cool and also really functional.
She calls this the Ferrara Bag and I think that sounds so chic. Maybe I should give mine a name? Like the Amalfi Bag or the Sorrento Hobo…(clearly I am dying for some kind of riviera vacation). I purchased the pattern from LoveCrafts here and I used Paintbox Yarns Simply DK in light caramel.
My mom is also currently making this bag. When she came to visit a couple weeks ago we started on this project together. It was so nice to just sit and crochet and talk and drink wine. Yes, you can wine and crochet! She is the original crochet master, having made all kinds of cute things over the years. I think when we are in Amsterdam for good, we might need to start a weekly FaceTime crochet club. Ok, this is starting to sound like the beginnings of a novel on Oprah’s book list.
Lately we’ve been working on getting the house listed for sale. Should be officially on the market next week. Paul has been in Amsterdam and France the past few days so I’m off to the airport to pick him up!
Have a good one! And as always, thank you for reading!
