It’s just a regular crochet factory over here these days. Paul jokes that I’m turning into that crochet guy from the U.S. Bank commercials (I promise I’m not making a pool cover). LOL But, I am always searching for unique projects to crochet and when I saw this little bag I knew I had to make it. It was very easy and I learned a new stitch plus used a new type of yarn. So today I’m sharing how I’m styling a chic crochet satchel (that I made) plus a roundup of other woven and crochet bags to love. If you’ve jumped on the creative bandwagon like I have, keep reading for a link to the pattern.
To make this chic crochet satchel I used one skein of Hoooked Zpagetti in Vineyard Green that I purchased from Lovecrafts.com. It’s a recyclable t-shirt yarn made from unwanted and unused fabrics from European textile manufacturers. How neat is that? And it comes in a range of beautiful colors. You can also purchase the pattern for this bag from Love Crafts here. It is designed by Tatiana of isWoolish, and she has many other beautiful projects I’d love to make (her Instagram is droolworthy). I decided to purchase her pattern because of the clean and beautiful full-color pdf and easy instructions she provided. Plus it feels good to support a fellow independent creative!
I can’t wait to use my chic crochet satchel throughout the winter season. I just love the green color and decided to pair it with black and cream tones. Whenever I’m carrying a bag that I feel is more of a statement piece I like to make sure it can stand out. I’ve seen so many other crochet bags like those from Bottega Veneta, Chanel, and Dolce & Gabbana. I think my little version is in good company!
