It took a formal event to get me back on the barrette trend – yes, I said back on…who didn’t rock them in the 90’s? I used to copy Drew Barrymore with that little side-sweep into a daisy clip (with my “Rachel” haircut of course). Wow, millennials will need to google this entire first paragraph.

But I’m so glad I tried some fun hair accessories lately because I’m loving the look and the functionality. I’m not sure why I don’t keep a few in my bag at all times, especially with all the travel we do. It just gives you a little something extra.

Naturally, I’m looking into any other forms of dressing up my hair. I’ve always had long hair and sometimes it gets a little boring. And annoying. I mean, it’s pretty much always in your face or your mouth when you’re trying to eat. But I can’t help that I love my long hair. And with summer almost here, I’m looking for ways to keep cool but also effortlessly chic.

Here are a few shots I didn’t post to Instagram that I tried lately. I bought a pack of rhinestone barrettes and have been experimenting with various combinations.
