Colorful Crochet Cardigan + Update on My Riviera Collection

Crochet, Fashion

Hello Spring, is that you? We’ve had an unseasonably chilly April in Amsterdam. It was reported that it’s the first time The Netherlands hasn’t had an official warm day before the month of May in over twenty-five years! We are still wearing our winter coats, but over the weekend we saw a glimpse of spring […]

Hi there!

Erin Segreto, Blogger | Cathedrals & Cafes Blog

Hi, I'm Erin - an Amsterdam-based writer capturing life through travel, style, and the little rituals that make a place feel like home.

Cathedrals & Cafés is where I share wanderings across Europe and beyond, what I'm wearing along the way, and everyday moments with my dog that make it all sweeter.

Think cozy cafés, carry-on essentials, and a life built around curiosity and good wine. I'm so glad you stopped by! ❤️

Save this for your Morocco itinerary ✨ We left th Save this for your Morocco itinerary ✨

We left the buzz of Marrakech behind and ended up somewhere slower, quieter, and a little magical. A series of winding roads led us through fresh mountain air and views that make you forget to check your phone. Honestly, it makes you forget the craziness of the modern world and slip back to a time when the earth was still young. 🌍

We visited a local argan oil cooperative 🧴, spent some time with some dromedary friends 🐪, and had the most beautiful lunch in a Berber home overlooking the mountains 🏔️. Simple, peaceful, unforgettable.

This is your sign to go beyond the city 🤍

Sampling some of the 12 regional teas of Morocco in this historic, tranquil space was a highlight of our trip. 1112 is a must-visit in the heart of Marrakech. This stunning, serene atmosphere is located inside a roughly 300-year-old riad known for being a quiet, peaceful sanctuary amidst the bustling Marrakech Medina.

A Majorelle moment 💙💙💙 Tucked away in the heart o A Majorelle moment 💙💙💙

Tucked away in the heart of Marrakech lies Jardin Majorelle, a garden oasis of bold color, lush greenery, and a little bit of calm away from the medina. It’s one of those places that’s somehow even more beautiful in person ✨

✨Did You Know?✨

💙 The iconic Majorelle Blue was created by French artist Jacques Majorelle, who designed the garden in the 1920s. He even patented the color because of how unique it is.

👗 The garden was nearly abandoned before being restored by fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent and his partner Pierre Bergé in the 1980s. There is an amazing YSL museum here as well.

🪴 Over 300 plant species from around the world live in the garden, including rare cacti, bamboo, and exotic plants collected by Majorelle during his travels.

🪦 Yves Saint Laurent’s ashes were scattered in the garden after his passing, and a memorial now sits there in his honor.
