Hi friends! It’s been a chilly few days so I took advantage by staying in and finishing another crochet project. I have become so addicted to this hobby! This is the Lulu Basket Bag designed by Alexandra Tavel of Two of Wands (@twoofwands on Instagram). I love it. Let’s discuss it!
This pattern is available for FREE from Two of Wands here!
To create this little basket bag, I used only 3 skeins of Lion Brand Vel-Luxe Jumbo yarn in the color Rainy Day. It’s a light cream color that I thought was neutral enough to go with anything. If you want to make this bag yourself, be sure you also have a 15mm crochet hook.
This is one of those grab-and-go bags perfect for running errands or tossing dog mom essentials into. It’s really structured and stands up on its own, so it could also double as a storage basket around the house. The yarn is so soft, giving it a cozy wintery feel that I like. I also really liked that I could make this in just about an hour.
I am finishing up a cardigan right now that I hope to style and share soon. It’s taken a bit longer to complete but I think it’s going to be amazing. I basically have all the pieces done and just need to sew them together. Stay tuned for that!

Hello Erin! This Lulu basket tote bag is so adorable, I just had to order this kit, too! The Vel-lux yarn is so soft and colours are saturated. Planning on making a few for Christmas. Filling it with Xmas gift goodies, I imagine that even Cindy Lu in Whoville would find it delightful! Keep those crochet inspirations coming! Your photos are the best!
Thank you, Karol! That is a fun project – and great idea filling it with Christmas gifts! xo – Erin
