Happy Tuesday, friends! I hope you had a great weekend and your work-from-home week is going well so far. We enjoyed a weekend of staying in, of course. We spent Friday night cooking dinner, having wine, and winding down to some good music. Saturday we ventured out to Paul’s office to pick up another computer monitor for him to work from home with, and then we stopped by the grocery store for some essentials. The rest of the weekend was all about movies, food, and let’s face it, more food. Haha…but I’m staying active with my Peloton (so grateful for that) and will have an updated post for you guys soon. So many of you have sent me questions, and now that we are all staying home more, many of you are considering a home gym situation. More on that to come. Today’s post is part of The Edit Series and I’ve dubbed it the “Cozy Edition.”
I spent some time (because what else do we have right now) surfing around for the ultimate list of cozy things to increase the quality of our stay-at-home/work-from-home life. Some of these things I’ve been enjoying every day (like my cozy suede slippers), and others are things on my own wish list.
One of mine and Paul’s favorite things is our aromatherapy diffuser. Paul even told me he thinks he sleeps better when we diffuse at night. I love combining scents like lavender and eucalyptus or peppermint and tea tree oil. Especially with the pollen season kicking in around here. I like this one because it offers a couple of different diffuser strengths as well as soothing light, and it will diffuse for hours – even all night.
Since we are spending a lot of time on the couch in the evenings, I’ve stocked up on blankets. I look forward to curling up with one at the end of each day, if I can manage to steal one away from Bella or Lola, that is. This plush throw is perfect for cozy nights in and is less expensive than similar brands.
I’ve shared our French press on Instagram before, and we continue to love it. Especially now that we are on such a different schedule. There’s time to make slower coffee more often. I have to say, that’s one thing that I’m enjoying while being at home more – the ability to slow down.
Also, I’ve been loving this dry shampoo from R+Co. It’s been the best for days where I’m just on the computer all day.
Finally, a cozy indulgence I’m enjoying everyday is lighting scented candles. I may need to place another order soon at this rate, but candles have made dinners at home feel special. They make taking a bath feel spa-like, and they add an overall ambience of calm throughout our home. I like to stick with clean smelling scents this time of year. Things that remind me of spring or fresh clean laundry. I’ve always loved Voluspa candles and this set is the perfect balance of floral and citrus fruit.
