What’s In My Beach Bag

Fashion, Lifestyle / Tuesday, August 18th, 2020

After what feels like ages, I am so thrilled to be taking a little vacation on a road trip to the beach this week! We’ve rented a condo that not only has spectacular beach views but also provides a pool. I plan to divide my time between both while keeping a cocktail in hand at all times. It’s going to be the most perfect socially distanced holiday and for the first time ever, I am excited and happy to be packing a bag! Packing used to be the most dreaded part of travel for me, but I will feel forever grateful for this task from now on. One thing I cannot forget is a giant tote filled with all the summer necessities. Since I’ve added some fun new things for this trip, I wanted to share what’s in my beach bag.

What’s In My Beach Bag:

Sunhat

I found this embroidered wide floppy hat last weekend and pretty much just bought it for this trip. Sun protection? Check! Cheeky quote? Check!

Tinted Moisturizer + SPF

Since I don’t like the heavy feel of a face full of makeup at the beach (but still want to have that fresh face look) I bought this tinted moisturizer with SPF and I love it. I’ve been wearing it nearly everyday for the past week or so and it’s like a photo filter for your skin. It’s not sticky at all and has built-in sunscreen. It’s perfect!

Sunscreen

Supergoop has always been a favorite of mine. This formula provides great sun protection and is great for sweaty people like me!

Insulated Water Bottles

I take this stainless steel insulated bottle with me just about everywhere. My tip: have an extra one on hand to keep your rose chilled, too!

Books

Reading is something I love to do poolside. Check out my July Reading List to see what I just finished (there’s a great summer dress in the post, too!). I’m currently reading Look For Me by Lisa Gardner. If you’re into thrillers, it’s a good one!

Beach Towels

I love a new beach towel for the season. Last weekend I stumbled upon some really cute ones at my local Nordstrom Rack. I just love the pastel colors and fun designs of this one and this one.

Sunglasses

New sunglasses always make me happy. I have quite the collection at this point and need to get some kind of organizational method for them. Any suggestions? I can’t decide between a hanging system like this or something more of a container like this. Anyway, when I found this pair of oversized round sunglasses I had to have them for our trip. They also come in black.

Scrunchies

I prefer velvet scrunchies because they really grip my hair and don’t hurt. This is a huge pack of velvet scrunchies for under $10!

Other essentials: A giant pool float. Ok, technically this doesn’t fit into my beach bag but at such a great price, it’s coming with me. And you’re never too old to enjoy something like this.
