5 Sample Beauty Products Worthy of a Full Size

Beauty / Wednesday, February 13th, 2019

For a few weeks now I’ve been experimenting with a few sample beauty products I collected over the holidays. Some, like these 5, made the cut. And by cut, I mean that these 5 products are definitely worthy of a full size purchase.

Don’t Be Afraid to Ask for a Sample

I will straight up ask to sample anything. I really believe in the “try before you buy” philosophy, especially when it comes to beauty products. If it’s going on or in my body, I don’t want to commit until I’ve at least tried it out. Most beauty counters will let you sample on the spot. Usually it’s disguised as a product demonstration, but I’m ok with that. Sometimes you get lucky and get a pretty decent sample size to take with you. Benefit does a great job of this at the counter and online. You can actually select two free samples at checkout. Sephora has also been in the sample game for awhile.

Added Benefit of Sample Beauty Products

Hello, travelers! I love sample beauty products because they are TSA approved. There’s no reason to forgo your favorite beauty products just because you’re trying to squeeze as much into a carryon as possible just to avoid checking anything (that crazy person is me, by the way).

Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Concentrate

I have been applying this daily under my eyes and it feels like a little mini lift. If I stay up too late, work too long, or maybe overindulge in my favorite wine (there’s no such thing, right?) then this little cream really helps. It’s loaded with antioxidants and has absolutely no parabens, suflates, or phthalates. It’s a little on the pricey side, but I honestly think the sample size could last me at least 6 months. A little goes a LONG way.

Alterna Caviar CC Cream 10-in-1 Complete Correction

We have had some pretty humid weather this month and this CC cream has really helped. I can go from zero to frizz in about 0.5 seconds, so I needed something that worked as both a blow out cream and corrector. I apply on towel-dried hair before blow drying and then any little areas that need further taming I just apply a small dab. A little goes a long way here too. It’s not sticky or oily at all, which seems to be a problem with a lot of hair creams.

Kiehl’s Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash

The thickness of the foam is probably my favorite part about this face wash. I mean, it does a great job of cleansing, but if you are one of those people that really appreciates a good lather then this is for you. Plus it’s made by Kiehl’s, one of the most trusted brands in skincare.

Origins Original Skin Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay

Origins named this product perfectly when they called it “Original Skin” because that’s how your face is going to feel after you use it – like the original skin you were born with. My face looked completely illuminated from within and felt as smooth as a marble floor yet soft and delicate. It’s great for reducing the size of your pores and controlling oil, too.

Aveda Hand Relief Moisturizing Creme

My hands have been killing me this winter. I started slathering them in this moisturizing creme and I love it. It’s so soft – you have to try it. The fragrance is also really nice. I love anything with just a hint of eucalyptus and this creme combines that with a few other organic ingredients. It’s been in my purse ever since.
