Ever since organizing my closet, I’ve been on a huge cleaning kick. I’ve purged more than ever before and it feels so good to finally be able to find things quickly and easily. So naturally, the January Edit is all about a clean and organized home. Everything from laundry and bath, to kitchen and stylish storage.
I really like solutions to storage problems that are also pretty. Like this beautiful ottoman that doubles as a place to stow blankets or in our house, dog toys. I don’t want to feel like I’m living in an OCD funhouse of horror, but rather a perpetual state of organizational nirvana! That’s why when I found these acrylic and gold canisters, I thought they’d be right at home on my makeup vanity. They’re also really affordable at under $10 each!
Have you seen Tidying Up on Netflix? I haven’t watched yet because I really just can’t squeeze in another show right now. Plus, I have this feeling that I will be instantly hooked. I tend to geek out over getting organized. I once asked for a label maker for Christmas and when I got it, proceeded to label just about everything. I mean, did I really need to label the clear plastic bin we store Bella’s dog food in? Like you can’t tell by looking at it that it’s not meant for human consumption. But I can’t help myself sometimes. When I get in that “zone” (you know the one), I will clean and organize until very late into the evening.
Getting my home clean and organized is not a New Year’s resolution or anything like that. It’s just something that feels good, especially after the holidays.
