I had a little fun and took some extra liberties with this edit (I don’t have this much red and black in my wardrobe but I’m liking it). The February edit is designed with a Valentine’s date night in mind. The kind of date night where you dress up, go out for a nice dinner, attend the theater or maybe a swanky club for some after dinner drinks.
There are a lot of couples who don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day, or at least don’t make a big deal out of it. I think that’s fair. Expectations can get a little out of hand. To be honest, my husband and I have never actually done anything on Valentine’s Day. The day comes and goes without much notice. But a couple days before or after, we always make time to do something together. That’s not to say we don’t show the same appreciation for each other all the other days of the year. But it’s fun to have another excuse for a date night together, which he knows I love.
This year we have dinner reservations at one of our favorite restaurants in San Antonio, Signature. It’s an experience from start to finish. We like to begin with a glass of champagne and an old fashioned in the bar. There’s something about it that feels like being on a date. At the table, a multi-course meal with a changing seasonal menu means there’s always something new to try. The atmosphere is also pretty romantic. We’ve talked about having dessert somewhere else, just to mix it up. We don’t always do gifts, but rather enjoy an evening spent together.
How will you spend Valentine’s Day? Do you have a date night planned with your significant other? Or are you hanging with your girlfriends? Maybe just cuddling with your fur baby Valentine?
