Ok, it’s not technically my first time ever, but it’s been soooooo long since I’ve touched a Lancôme product that I couldn’t even tell you what that product was. I’m essentially a Lancôme virgin!
This post is sponsored by Lancôme Macy’s at The Shops at La Cantera. I was provided Lancôme beauty products to review. As always, all opinions are my own.
Last week, I was invited to a blogger presentation at the Lancôme Macy’s at The Shops at La Cantera. Everything was absolutely stunning (be sure to check out the Lancôme story highlight on my Instagram)! The Lancôme Macy’s team at La Cantera really outdid themselves. Not only was the event space gorgeously decorated and full of French food, drinks, and music, but we received a thorough education on each of the products we received.
When I started to write this post I was thinking that I would just select one favorite Lancôme product to share with you, like the one that stood out the most. But the more I thought about it, I wanted to come to you as a total Lancôme newbie and share my thoughts on everything I’ve used and loved so far. And to be honest, it’s ALL amazing stuff so picking just one was impossible. Long story short, I’m very pleased with the results and I think I’m a Lancôme fan for life now.
Read on for my first time with Lancôme…
Lancôme Skincare
As you guys know, skincare is a big deal to me. The art of aging gracefully is something I’m always trying to master. I get pretty excited to try new products and so naturally the first thing out of the box was Lancôme Absolue.
First impressions:
Love the packaging (I know that has nothing to do with its effectiveness, but we do tend to love with our eyes first). But in addition to being a beautiful gold hue, the container is refillable, making it a more eco-friendly product as well.
A little goes a long way. You just need a tiny amount (less than the size of a pea) for overall application. So even though this carries a slightly elevated price tag, it’s going to last you a long time.
Love the formula. It’s a lightweight cream that starts to transform into a serum-like moisturizer as it warms up over your skin. It smells great, too, which is from the rose extracts and rose essential oils.
Results:
I’ve been using it nightly for the past week, and have noticed my skin feeling really soft when I wake up. At first I wasn’t sure about it, because I thought it might be greasy or a little too heavy for someone with oily skin like myself. But it’s not at all. It absorbs really well and I find that I just wake up with moisturized skin. Maybe even a little dewy. It feels luxurious, to be honest, and I just really like the softness and overall smoothness that I’m waking up with.
Lancôme Fragrance
When it comes to fragrance, I’m pretty picky. I usually gravitate towards florals, but even those can sometimes be overwhelming. I don’t like scents that are too sweet either. So I was really excited to try Idôle Eau de Parfum by Lancôme, because it promises a really nice balance of floral, citrus, and vanilla.
First Impressions:
Love the packaging again! The bottle design is incredibly thin (literally the thinnest fragrance bottle in the world), designed to feel as comfortable in your hand as your phone. In fact, just looking at it reminds you of your iPhone (except prettier and pinker and much more chic). It lays flat on your vanity, too, giving it a much more modern feel than traditional perfume bottles. This youthful approach to the bottle design makes sense, as Zendaya is the new face of this Lancôme fragrance. Also, these bottles will be available to be refilled soon, again making it an eco-friendly product.
As an eau de parfum, a little goes a long way. I love an eau de parfum for its deeper saturation of fragrance. It was also designed by three female perfumers from France, Colombia, and the Middle East. How cool is that?
Results:
I’ve worn this perfume every day and have yet to tire of it. It smells incredible! Don’t you wish we had smell-o-vision? I just spray a little at the base of my neck and on my wrists. I think the scent changes a little throughout the day, becoming sweeter as it warms on your skin. But it’s still really light with just a hint of floral. No wonder it’s an Allure Best of Beauty award winner.
Lancôme Eyes
I have been around the world and then some when it comes to mascara. I had actually seen another blogger singing the praises of Lancôme CILS Booster mascara base, even though she pairs it with another mascara. So I was keen to try it out with Lancôme Hypnôse Drama mascara. Again, have always heard good things but hadn’t actually tried either.
First Impressions:
The CILS booster is thick and creamy and can actually be worn as a lash mask overnight due to its nourishing properties. The Hypnôse Drama has an “S” shaped wand to help deliver more product to each lash. The formula is a good consistency and not too thick. Both came easily off with Lancôme Bi-Facil Eye Makeup Remover (another instant favorite of mine).
Results:
Hello telescopic lashes! My lashes are an ok length naturally but the combination of these products made a huge difference. I noticed in some photos I took the other day that my eyes popped as if I was wearing false lashes, but I wasn’t. So yeah, I’m pretty happy with it. And I needed a good mascara for all the holiday parties this time of year. I’m terrible at applying fake lashes so a good mascara is where it’s at for me.
Lancôme Lips
I’m usually just a lip gloss girl, but I do make an exception when it comes to a really nice red lipstick. Lancôme’s L’Absolu Rouge Ruby Cream Lipstick in the shade Rubiez is perfect! It’s 25% more pigmented than traditional lipsticks and is multi-faceted like a gemstone, giving you a pointed tip that you can use to line your lips.
First Impressions:
Another packaging wonder! Just press the rose at the top and the tube pops out. The formulation is really creamy and feels like I’ve applied a moisturizer as well as a lipstick at the same time.
Results:
I wore this lipstick all through my birthday dinner last week and it lasted through champagne, several courses, a bottle of wine, and dessert. Usually my lipstick is gone after the first course, so I was really happy I didn’t have to reapply.
Thank you again, Lancôme Macy’s La Cantera for such a fun evening!
