Hello and happy Monday! I hope this week is off to a grand start for you. This week I’m traveling to California with my mom. It’s a long-overdue girls’ trip and I’m so excited. We will be spending some time in Carmel-by-the-Sea, the Carmel Valley, Paso Robles, and San Francisco. It’s been since I was a child that I’ve really been back to California (not counting the 24 hours I spent in Palm Springs for work earlier this year). My memories of that time are mostly of Disneyland so this will be quite different. We rented a car and I can’t wait to feel that ocean breeze in my hair. I’m posting our adventures on Instagram so be sure to follow CathedralsandCafes. Maybe I’ll convince my mom to join me in a story or two.
My husband helped me put together a travel playlist for this trip. It’s what we consider the ultimate playlist for road-tripping around The Golden State. As you can see there is quite a variety on this thing. It really reflects our varied taste in musical genres and decades. We always make it a point to create our own playlist before a trip. We add songs that we like but also songs that originate from the country we are visiting or songs that just give you that local vibe. We also pack a small portable bluetooth speaker. I cannot express to you just how nice it is to sit on your terrace with some wine and great music. Just like at home!
Make sure to pin this to your travel or playlist board for future reference!
