With summer winding down and school starting soon, I usually get in the mood to refresh my closet. I used to work in education and always got excited to go “back-to-school” shopping, even though I’m an adult. Seriously though, did you ever do that with your mom? We would hit a few stores and stock up on a few new things to start the year off right with. Clothing has always given me confidence and there’s nothing more confidence boosting to me than stepping out in something new.
So today’s Friday Favorites No. 8: Fashion Edition (it’s been awhile, hasn’t it?) comes from a few fellow bloggers and blogs that I have always looked up to – I devour their articles each week. I’d say there’s definitely enough here to get you through the weekend.

Ever since finding these Adidas sneakers for a major deal, I’ve been a little obsessed with how to style them. I love these 7 Chic Ways to Style Sneakers from the EveryGirl. I know I can pull off the t-shirt dress because I already have so many of those, but what do you guys think of the other styles?
Off-the-grid Online
Tired of shopping the same old places? Sometimes I just need to break out of “everything Nordstrom” mode! Don’t get me wrong, I love that place but I also love finding smaller boutiques and shops that aren’t big box stores. And since I mostly do my shopping online, I love this roundup of 10 Off the Grid Online Shops from Damsel in Dior. (Btw, you guys should totally be reading her blog and following her on Instagram. She’s just so chic in every way.)
Dressing for YOU
I have never been one to dive into every trend that comes along. There are just some things that I personally think I would look ridiculous in. Grace at The Stripe has a great article on dressing for your body with easy summer essentials. It’s a great read and reiterates how I feel most of the time.
Return of the Scarf Top
I can recall a time in the early 2000’s where scarf tops were all my roommates and I would wear out in college. They were taken right off the screen from shows like Sex & The City, and now they are popping up again (and I not-so-secretly love them). I love how Renia from Vens Wife Style wears a scarf top so beautifully and also these versions from Carrie Bradshaw Lied and Sivan Ayla.
