November 2017 Round-Up

Beauty, Fashion, Food and Wine, Lifestyle, Photography / Friday, December 1st, 2017

Was that a quick month or what? I love the holidays but always feel like they’re over as soon as they begin. I really want to try and stretch out the holiday this year and slow down, if at all possible. You know those cliché things like sipping hot cocoa by the fire and wrapping gifts while listening to Christmas music? I actually want to do those things!! Not just think about it and then forget to do it because I’m so wrapped up in adulting. Surely grown-ups are allowed a little wonder of the season, right?

I think I’m off to a good start. We got our tree up as well as some wreaths on the front doors. We even lined our driveway with bright lights this year (just helping Santa find his way to our house)! I still have about 4 bins of decorations to go through, but I do love seeing the house transform. Would you be interested in a blog post of our home at Christmas? Photos and such? Let me know in the comments!

Things slowed down on the travel front for us this month. Instead, we had family come to visit and we celebrated my mother-in-law’s birthday. It was a weekend full of wine tasting, playing naughty app games on our phones, and laughing until someone nearly pees their pants. Sometimes family is the therapy you need.

In an effort to help with holiday gift giving, I started a series of gift guides. It’s been pretty fun coming up with creative gifts ideas. I started a Holiday Gift Guides 2017 page on the blog, so check those out if you haven’t already. I’ll be putting together additional guides in the weeks to come.

My November cocktail of the month was a big hit and looked festive as ever. If you’ve never tried a boilermaker before, try my Bountiful Boilermaker recipe and let me know what you think! As always, it’s super easy.

I had the best time with the Blogging SATX group at the Riley Rose opening! Read my post on how I found my blogging tribe to see all the pretty pics I snapped. We have some other events coming up in December that I’m looking forward to, too, but basically it is just so nice to find a group of lifestyle creatives who support community over competition.

I hope that you (and your wallet) survived Black Friday shopping this year! We found some amazing deals on some jackets and boots for our upcoming trip to…wait for it…Vail, Colorado! We are going in February and I can’t wait to share it with you. It’s going on 9 years since I’ve been snow skiing and I can’t wait!

Speaking of shopping…did you see my 5 tips for shopping Amazon Fashion? I love when I find great deals (like this blue tunic dress), but you do need to read the fine print and more.

I hope November was good to you!
