The October Style Edit: Pre-Holiday

Fashion, The Edit Series / Tuesday, October 30th, 2018

I’m pretty excited about this month’s edit because I love holiday parties, and I think it’s safe to say that the holidays are basically here. In a few days my husband and I are going to our first formal event this season, so to say I was inspired by feeling festive is an understatement. I didn’t want to go too overboard yet, since we still have to get through Halloween. But the holiday party invitations are starting to roll in and if I don’t prepare now then I know I’ll be in trouble. There’s nothing worse than waiting until the last minute to find the “perfect” outfit only to go home empty handed or with something that you feel uninspired to wear. Been there, done that!

Holiday parties are a time to break out things you wouldn’t wear on a daily basis (well, at least for me). Textures like sequins and satin, tulle, and velvet are some of my favorites. I’m not usually a sparkly dresser, but for a holiday party I make an exception. My go to is usually a dress, but I’m really into all the tulle skirts I’ve seen lately. I always think of Carrie Bradshaw when I see a tulle skirt, don’t you?

Don’t forget your host or hostess gifts! I love that marble bottle stopper with the gold accent initial. A furry wine bag is always fun to receive a nice bottle in, too.
