3 Favorite Beauty Buys

Beauty / Tuesday, September 26th, 2017

Do you ever feel like there is just not enough time in the day to get everything done? I probably have this feeling every single day. With a busy schedule juggling work commitments, work travel, the blog, and oh yeah…having a life with my husband, I feel as if I’m always playing catch up. The last thing I need is to spend a ton of time on my beauty routine (or a ton of money).

I want to share 3 beauty products that I purchased lately that have made a difference in my routine. I have not partnered with these brands but when I find something that I love, I really want to share it. We should help each other out, ladies!

Goody QuickStyle Paddle Brush

Goody Quickstyle Paddle Brush

I was pretty intrigued by this new development in the world of hair brushes and at under $10 I thought I would at least give it a shot. Interwoven amongst the usual plastic bristles are soft microfiber bristles. It’s designed to absorb and remove water as you brush your hair. I can honestly say it’s shaved off half the time I would normally spend using my blow dryer. It doesn’t save time overall and it doesn’t miraculously dry your hair completely, but that’s not the intent. It’s meant to reduce the amount of heat damage from your blow dryer. After towel drying my hair I run the QuickStyle brush through my hair for a couple of minutes. The drying time with my blow dryer is only another couple of minutes after that, so I am loving it. I also like using it on days where I don’t want to blow dry my hair at all. It also comes in a half-round version in addition to the paddle style. One tip – the microfiber bristles can become flattened as you use it, but a quick shake and a few taps on the back perk them back up.

Davines Alchemic Chocolate Conditioner

Davines Chocolate Conditioner

This conditioner is definitely more pricey than I normally spend on a hair product, but I am so amazed by it. Brunette ladies – if you have a few of those pesky little greys popping up and are hesitant to dive into a full on dye job, then you’ll want to give this stuff a try (don’t worry, they also have versions for blondes and redheads). There are shampoos as well, but you can use this conditioner in combination with the shampoo you already use. It’s the consistency of chocolate pudding and goes on clean wet hair. Leave on for 5-10 minutes to let the product deposit the dye onto your strands. I usually put it on and then shave my legs. Just rinse out and enjoy coverage for several days. I use it once a week right now. An added bonus is the amount of body it puts into my hair. I love how full and bouncy my hair is after styling and it holds a curl really well, too. It also has an enjoyable non-chemical aroma.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Gel Cleanser

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Cleanser

I have tried a lot of facial cleansers and am continually disappointed. This is not at all the case with Hydro Boost. A little goes a very long way and it completely removes makeup, even on those multiple layer mascara days. It is incredibly gentle and my skin feels so soft. I use it twice a day, morning and night, and noticed a difference after just the first use. The hyaluronic acid helps to lock all that moisture in, even if you have oily skin like I do. The older I get the more important it is that I moisturize.

What are some of your favorite beauty products that have made your routine easier or better? I am always interested in trying new products and would love some suggestions! I am not an expert when it comes to perfecting my skin and hair, but if I can help a girl out, I will!

Thank you so much for reading, friends! I hope your week is going well!
