With the continuance of dark and gloomy days here in Amsterdam, I felt compelled to bring a little color into the world! I give you, the Pippa Crochet Tote! She’s bright, she’s pink, she’s ready for a boozy brunch! She’s not big enough to hold your bottle of bubbly but she will look cute keeping your keys, wallet, and phone safe while you toast with friends. And the best part is you can start and finish her in an afternoon or less! Scroll down to download the Pippa Crochet Tote Pattern for FREE!
I used two colors of Hoooked Zpagetti held together to give this crochet bag the structure it needs. You can use any color you fancy, of course, and Hoooked has a TON of gorgeous colors available. Hoooked Zpagetti was one of the first yarns I learned to crochet with and it continues to be a favorite yarn of mine, especially for crocheting bags. It’s a sustainable T-shirt yarn made with textile waste from European fashion factories, yet looks and feels as good as a brand new yarn!
I have been seeing all kinds of colorful crochet bags in my feed lately, many of which are made with t-shirt yarn. I had a few skeins of Hoooked Zpagetti in my stash so I decided to see if I could create something like what I was seeing. It was a cold and rainy afternoon and the tea was hot – but so were my crochet hooks (hahaha)! After frogging it four times I landed on a concept I was happy with. It really took no time at all and now we have the Pippa Crochet Tote!
